Individual CounselingSchool counselors meet one-on-one with students to help them plan, manage, and monitor their own learning. School counselors also meet with students to provide support to manage life events and developmental concerns, such as problems with peers, stress, and self-esteem. |
Core CurriculumCore curriculum includes classroom-based lessons designed to promote academic, social-emotional, and career development. Core curriculum lessons are designed to meet Virginia's Standards of Learning for School Counseling Programs. |
Group CounselingStudents who share a common concern may be invited to participate in small groups focused on specific topics, such as grief, conflict resolution, self-regulation, or family changes. Small group counseling can provide students with an opportunity to make friends, strengthen skills, and give and receive support. At Red Hill, families will be notified before students are placed in groups. |
